Absentee ballots were mailed Thursday, December 14th to voters who already had a valid request on file. Absentee voters can track their ballot by visiting the NH Secretary of State’s website.
To request an absentee ballot, please complete an Absentee Ballot Application and return it to the Town Clerk’s office. Requests can be delivered to the Clerk by mail, drop box, email, fax, or in person. Please bring a government-issued photo ID when requesting or delivering an absentee ballot in person.
You must be registered to vote in order to vote absentee. If you are not currently registered to vote, please contact the Town Clerk’s office for information on how to register. You can check your voter registration status by visiting the Secretary of State’s website linked above. The deadline to register to vote in the Town Clerk’s office before this election is Wednesday, January 10th, 2024. You may also register to vote with the Supervisors of the Checklist at Town Hall on Wednesday, January 10th between 7 and 7:30 pm or at the polls on election day.
Once you have received your absentee ballot and completed it according to the instructions, you may return it to the Town Clerk’s office via mail, in-person, or have someone you designate as Delivery Agent bring it to the Town Clerk. Only certain individuals may act as a Delivery Agent, including the voter’s spouse, parent, child, or sibling. If you choose to have someone else drop off your completed ballot, we will ask to see their government-issued photo ID and have them complete an Absentee Ballot Return form.
Marked absentee ballots CANNOT be returned in our drop box. The Town Clerk’s office is open to the public Monday – Friday from 7:30 am – 4 pm. We will stay open until 5 pm Monday, January 22nd for absentee ballot purposes ONLY.
